COUNTERTOPS
Countertops are being made of a variety of eco-friendly materials. For example, 100% post-consumer recycled paper is bonded with a water-based resin which is durable, scratch resistant. Or they can be a mix of recycled paper, recycled glass, coal fly ash and Portland cement to resemble soap stone or limestone. To create a more exotic look countertops can be made of recycled glass then mixed with concrete. This material is VOC free (non toxic), fire resistant and comes in a wide variety of exquisite colors.
CABINETS
This architectural feature of your home is a very important decision and deserves your focus.

Cork is harvested from the bark of an oak cork tree which is considered a rapidly renewable material because it grows back in 5-7 years.
Linoleum is a natural product made of linseed oil, pigments, pine rosin and pine flour (sawdust) and is covered with natural jute backing. These floors come in lots of yummy colors and last up to fifty years.
Stone is natural and timeless. Sandstone & slate can be quarried with less damage to the earth than granite or marble.
